The Best Double Buggy Strollers
A double buggy is the best if you are expecting twins or have two children of different ages. The best ones are simple to maneuver and deal with rough surfaces and kerbs.
They also come with features such as large sun canopies as well as hoods that are transparent and seats that are adjustable.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour Double

The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest of the Baby Jogger range. It is designed for travel, and can fit through doors that are standard with its narrow and slim design. It's also one the lightest double buggies you can find with a weight of just 14lbs when folded. This makes it perfect for flying with a toddler and newborn because you won't have to exceed the luggage allowances of airlines. It can also be folded up into the size of an incredibly small travel bag making it easy to store in the back seat of your car.
It's easy to fold the Z-shape by using one hand. Once you're used to it, it is small and takes only a few seconds. However our tester found the auto lock a bit confusing. Also, since the handlebar doesn't lock into position when you press it, it landed on her legs when she was using it. She also thought that the handlebar was on the shorter side. This is especially true when a large changing bag hangs from it.
In contrast to other travel buggies that are lightweight it doesn't sacrifice features and is among the most feature-packed double strollers on the market. It is compatible with two carrycots (available separately) and has various recline positions, and comes with a UV 50+ canopy. You can add a bassinet on either or both seats to create a travel system.
The four rubber composite tires are great for pavements and urban terrain. However, they are not made for off-roading. They had trouble with long grass and gravel and there was not enough clearance between the wheel bracket and the wheel and mud sank easily. Our tester loved this buggy and was able to climb some pretty dirt hills.
2. iCandy Orange
The iCandy Orange is a premium double buggy that is a top choice in design and versatility. It is a must-have for parents who want a stylish, high-quality double buggy that will last. The Orange has a beautiful light, sleek chassis that has a massive basket that can easily fit 2 car seats. It has a luxurious, interchangeable water repellent and breathable canopy with mesh ventilation. It is available in trendy colors that include Pistachio, Fossil, Latte and Rose on a Jet Black frame. There's also the possibility of a built-in riding on the bike for older siblings to join in the fun.
The 2021 update comes with couple of improvements, including better manoeuvrability, a larger shopping basket, and a revamped bumper bar with leatherette cover. The seats are extremely comfortable and feature a moulded look. They are also adjustable, so they can be placed according to the needs of siblings. iCandy have included the first ever "cinema" seating concept that allows parents to maintain eye contact with both children. They can be moved so that they face either the parent or the world.
It's a heavier tandem buggie but it's easy to use and drive especially on smooth pavements. It is stable in both double and single mode and even on sloped ground. It's not as easy to drive on public transport, however, because it requires more than one hand on the handlebar. It's also a bit bulky and won't fit into a standard family car boot with the seat attached but this can be overcome with careful planning. iCandy includes the footmuff and changing bag included in the cost, so it's a great value package for new parents.

5. Nipper Double V5
The Nipper Double V5 is a updated version of Out 'n' About of the award-winning buggies that can be used on all terrains. It's designed for siblings or twins, and features independent reclined seats, compatibility with carrycots and a lightweight frame for hassle-free manoeuvring on uneven terrain.
The height-adjustable handle and rear wheel suspension offer an enjoyable ride for children up to 22kg. The durable pneumatic tyres, which are easy to clean, also give a smooth ride while jogging. The 360-degree swivel wheel can be locked to make it easier to manoeuvre around the town. The one-pedal easy lock brake is also easy to use.
Our test participants found that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to maneuver, even on uneven terrain or when turning in an area with a lot of traffic. The fact that the seats can be reclined independently was an enormous hit.
They also appreciated the fact that the hoods could be moved forward and back making them easy to adjust in the sun or for wind protection. Our testers did discover however that they didn't provide an enormous amount of coverage compared to similar to the Baby Jogger City Mini hoods which is why it's worthwhile to pack a rain cover in case of need.
Overall, our test participants were impressed with the Nipper double's ability allow them to take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all kinds of adventures. From exploring the forest for wildlife or rushing to a park for a playdate they were thrilled. Our testers were also amazed by how spacious and comfortable the two seats are. There's plenty of room to stretch out for toddlers who are growing. The lack of parent-facing seating and the inability to use car seat on this buggy were both noted as a drawback by our test participants. They would have liked to see a larger storage area for shopping and other gear.
